Dear Abby,
I enjoyed many aspects of your book, Is This Thing On? While I am not a novice with computers, I found many clues and tricks in various chapters that I can use. Thanks!
I too am a poor typist, even with using a Mavis Bacon computer tutorial. It is not the lack of speed, but the inaccuracies that mess me up and take so much time. Of course, using 2 or so fingers does not help. I ran across a Speech to Typing Softare that sounded more natural than the ones from the past. It is called Dragon Naturally Speaking Software made by Nuance Communications. It allows you to read material into the computer, so that the software picks up your nuance, accent, speed, and tone. I tried it and it actually works well. It self corrrects when it makes errors and you correct it. That is, it gets better and better the more you use it.
You may want to check it out.
