I have and have read your book. I still have questions. For no apparent reason my screen saver won't work anymore. I have tried to reset it, but it just won't come on after the ten minutes. Hope you can help me, give a suggestion on what to do. Thanks. Judy

Dear Judy,
To help me solve your problem, I have a question…after 10 minutes does your computer screen change at all or does it just stay the same? I'm wondering if an energy saving preference of your computer is overtaking your screen saver. Also, when you ask the computer to display the screen saver, does it work?
Let me know and we'll see if we can get to the bottom of the problem.
Best,
Abby

Hi Abby,
Thanks for answering. I will try to answer your questions. First of all after the ten minutes the screen just stays the same. It doesn't do anything till I shut it off. I'm not sure about the second question. I've tried to reset the screen saver by going to Properties, which didn't work. I don't think I've asked the computer to go to the screen saver except through Properties. I don't know how to do it any other way. I'm not real sure I understand this question. Anyway hope this helps. Thanks so much for your time.

Dear Judy,
I'm confident we can get to the bottom of this.
You're doing the correct thing by going to Properties to change your Screen Saver. Are you able to get to the window where you decide on what screen saver you like and how much time will transpire before it becomes active? If so, after you have made your choices, are you sure to click on OK or SAVE so that your computer knows that those are the choices you want to go with?
To reassure you, a screen saver is no longer a necessary component of your computer, but instead now just a fun thing to have. Regardless, we can get yours working.
I'm trying to zero in on where the problem is happening. So, if you can tell me what the last thing is you do once you are in Properties that would help.
We may end up solving this with a phone call, but let's see what we can do here.
Best,
Abby

Hi again,
I changed the screen saver to Mystify (for something different) The box ”On resume, password protect” is now checked.
I set it for 10 min. which was what it was set to before. There's a Power… box choice, also OK, Cancel and Apply. I chose OK.
I waited the 10 min, but nothing happened. It just stayed on the desk top screen. Let me know if anything more can be done. At least I don't have to worry about really needing a screen saver. That's nice to know. Thanks so much. Judy

Dear Judy,
I traveling this week and do not have my PC computer with me. When I get home over the weekend I am going to try to recreate what you are doing and see if I can figure out the problem.
More to come…
Best,
Abby
