Computers can be really, really intimidating for some people and, yet, everyone recognizes how important they are in our lives now. I always tell people that it's okay if they decide not to use a computer, but I don't want anyone to think that they can't learn to use a computer. Anyone can – with the right help.
It sounds like your brother might be ready to take the plunge. Without tooting my own horn, I think he would be grateful to you for giving him a copy of “Is This Thing On?”. It would be the perfect book to gently hold his hand and get him using technology. And, if he has any questions, once he gets online, he can contact me for help.
