I have not deledted 49,000 Gmail messages  how do i get rid of them without going though each one with a check mark and placing them in the garbage pail, my computer is slowing down.  Thank you. Maureen

Maureen,

There's a box at the top left of your list of e-mails. If you click inside that box a check will appear beside each email on the page. (You can uncheck those you don't want to delete.) Now whatever action you take (i.e. Delete) will happen to all of the checked e-mails.
